Jen Jones - week 17
I am down .85% with a total of 9.86%. I have finally hit the 20lb loss which makes me super happy! As far as trying something new.....I have been going to Zumba on Thursday nights that the Stake put together. I have never participated in the church aerobic or weight loss programs so it has been fun and very interesting. I also worked out today which is really amazing because on Saturday's I usually say I am off duty than I eat bad and I spend the first couple days of the week trying to recover. Have a great week!

Mm Hmm...evil, evil, tasty food is winning. Bruce said he misunderstood and thought it was the BIGGEST (heaviest) person at the end that everyone would call a "looser," feel sorry for and give the money to. He has felt just aweful for skinny little Eric not even in the running. Now that he understands he will try to tip the scales the other direction. Sue still has not found a cure for "hand to mouth desease." Big fat zippo mundo zero losses for Bruce and Sue.
On a positive note Katie you can add 25 miles for the last 2 weeks for us. I also managed 38 laps in the pool this week.....problem is all that exercise made me super hungry. LOL :)

So after a very crazy week here is what we have to report:
Eric: down 2.51% for a total of 18.60% ... He has lost 40lbs since we started. YIKES!
Katie: lost 1lb finally for .68% this week and a total of 12.29% I have lost 24.6 lbs so far.

Question:
I was trying to update our pound for pound challenge from the "biggest loser" site and can not see how to up date that. Did I say I'm a technical "duh?" We are listed as ultimate weight loss challenge/Logan UT...if anyone has time to see if they can log in lbs. lost!?
Also, to comment on the "Eat to Live" book that Katie mentioned---I read that, and stuck with it for almost a whole week (Emily lasted much longer than me)....it does work....it gave me a jump start. Some of the things in there are pretty "intense" but it sure puts a whole new light on how to look at food, veggies and fruits in particular. My friend who is a "natural" health healer recommended this book to help me when I was diagnosed with my Celiac. It's worth a look and try if you are stuck!

Katie's New Plan of Attack
So I am sick of the ZERO results I have had the past 3 weeks... Yes the Easter Candy got the best of me, but NO MORE! I need to spice up my routine. As you know I have been calorie counting 1400 cal/day and working out- mostly P90X/Elliptical...
But I know that to be successful I need to be aware of not just CALORIES but every nutrient. So I am going to try this diet, "Eat to Live" my sis did this after her first baby and lost a ton- but not only that- she learned how to incorperate healthy good-for-you-foods in all her meals.
I don't know about the rest of you- but I can't count how many times my lettuce-veggies-fruits have gone BAD before I finally get to them... TONS of times. Since we are trying to stay on a food-budget plus a diet budget I really have been trying hard not to let that happen...
Anyway this diet is really interesting- definitely a challenge- but sounds promising. If anyone is interested in doing it with me I WOULD LOVE A BUDDY! I found the book super cheap on Amazon/EBay/KSL. I am building up my supplies and will be starting in the next 1-2wks.
Lastly I HIGHLY recommend looking into Bountiful Baskets- they deliver almost EVERYWHERE and it gives you wholesale values on TONS of produce/fruits/breads etc and makes you get creative with your cooking!

I stayed the same this week... Pat is at a scout camp out so I'm not sure how he did this week.
Big Daddy and Big Grandma of 3 grandchildren now!
Craigo remained the same, he has made it to the gym a couple of times....who ever thinks that life slows down in your 50's.....that is a delusion!!! I do not think we have ever been busier than we are at this stage of life! Lisa dropped 1 lb., I am certain that is because I got to chase a toddler around for 3 days after her new little brother arrived! So, a .53% for the week and a total of 9.71%, finally hit the 20 lbs. mark...hallelujah!

Cut and paste last weeks result for the Bruster. Same-o, same-o.
Sue has been working very hard trying not to drown and biking (no running...blasted achillis anyway). Like Jen the inches are changing but the scale hates me! No change on that front for me either. Does anyone know a cure for "hand to mouth disease" so the workouts will actually show on the scale?

Sorry about being MIA last week. It was crazy busy and I totally spaced the weigh in....I am being honest! I am not down on the scale.... dagnabit! I know why and the snicker's ice cream bar's were really good and they are my friend! Let just be honest......I have been pretty busy or more busier than usual the last couple of weeks and I haven't been eating well at all. Last night we went to Winger's and I didn't check the menu/calories before hand and I just put in my dinner....HELLO can I say 1600 calories on dinner alone. What the heck...that should be illegal to have a meal that I high in calories.
The one good thing is that I have been exercising almost daily and I am down more inches so that makes me super happy. Have a great week everyone!

Grief this challenge may be the death of me. Sweet Katie wants us all to try something new. Until I recover I am thinking there may be more appropriate adjectives to describe Katie.....just kidding Katie .....thanks for challenging me to step out of my comfort zone. Does not having done it for over thirty years count as new? I say yes. I actually stretched a swimming suit over this thing I walk around in every day called a body and went out in public, well to the gym any way. I quickly jumped in the water hoping not to be seen by many and praying I hadn't forgotten how to stay afloat after so many years. I managed 10 laps trying not to be out done by my daughter. All I can say is I am glad to still be alive and I am once again reminded that I am certainly not as young as I once was! But I did it.....might even try it again. Sue

Big Daddy & Big Mama
Craigo stayed the same....we hope his life at work will calm down so he can breath long enough to hit the gym again (And ignore his big jar of M & M's he keeps on his desk for his staff!) Lisa C. FINALLY lost some weight after a 5 week hiatus....down 2 lbs., total of 1.06% for this week, total of 9.22% and down a total of 19 lbs. I was a very good girl this week, and did not have one smigeon of chocolate for 5 days....Hello, my name is Lisa, I am a chocoholic, I want a group hug now!

Eric is down .25% this week- awesome job!
Katie- is still the same! Iwas up a little at the first of the week and I lost all that but couldn't beat my previous weight two weeks ago.. I NEED HELP! No lose for 2 wks!!! Any ideas shot them my way!
We both tried PLYOMETRICS (jump training) for a workout we have never done before!!! It is intense! Can't wait to hear what everyone else tried.

Happy snowy spring everyone! The "weight" of the snow seems to relate to the fact that Craig and I stayed the same "weight" this week....
I feel pretty good about being "back" to this weight, however, after seeing that our Disneyland vacation jolted me up nearly 6 lbs! So....back at the gym....time to get serious! Eric....let the games begin!

Had a 1.4 lb. loss this week, making weekly % lost 0.65% and Total % lost 8.73%. Total lbs. lost 20.2. Katie can you log me in for another 15 miles walked on the treadmill. Thanks! The thing I am the happiest about is that in the last 3 weeks I have brought my blood sugar down 100 points. Still not within normal range, but almost!!!! Half way really? I was not suppose to be mentally stuck and struggling at half way through this deal! I think perhaps Eric psyched me out by loosing ALL of his the first few "minutes" of the game. There is always hope for a Cougar miracle come from behind finish.......my blood does run blue.....now if I can only remember where I left the bolts that hold my head on straight and get them in place and cinched down tight then I will be back in the running. LOL
